We are a non-profit organization that believes in partnering with families, schools, churches, and communities to promote the holistic development of children with disabilities in Nicaragua.
Addressing needs in Puerto Cabezas
We would like to share with you a very beautiful mission that we have been carrying out for the past two and a half years in Puerto Cabezas, which is located in the Atlantic region of Nicaragua, 519 kilometers (322 miles) away from Tesoros de Dios in Managua. Part of our team has traveled 20 times now since December 2020 to help children with disabilities and to train families, schools, churches and community leaders on the topic of inclusion.
From January to July of this year we made three trips to Puerto Cabezas. We provided therapy and assistance to 37 people with disabilities, and training for 97 people and 8 churches in the area of disability and inclusion. Puerto Cabezas is a place where there are very few services for people with disabilities, and they are rejected and hidden because of a stigma in the community.
